چکیده
Abstract Hormuz salt formation is considered the origin of evaporated deposits in Zagros and its ductile behavior has been known as reason for inhomogeneous deformation Zagros. However, our knowledge about this limited to domes on surface. In study, local earthquakes recorded by a temporary dense seismological network 17 stations, deployed southern margin Simply Folded Belt (SFB) southwestern Iran, have used seismic imaging. The high‐resolution earthquake tomography revealed first geophysical evidence layer extension at depth. P-wave velocity structure of the crust and uppermost mantle beneath Iceland from local earthquake tomography
The structure of the crust and uppermost mantle beneath Iceland, the keys to understanding the magma plumbing system of the hotspot and hotspot–ridge interaction, was poorly constrained in previous seismological investigations. Here we develop a three-dimensional P-wave velocity model of the Icelandic crust and uppermost mantle from tomographic inversion of over 3500 first-arrivals from local e...
متن کاملthe search for the self in becketts theatre: waiting for godot and endgame
this thesis is based upon the works of samuel beckett. one of the greatest writers of contemporary literature. here, i have tried to focus on one of the main themes in becketts works: the search for the real "me" or the real self, which is not only a problem to be solved for beckett man but also for each of us. i have tried to show becketts techniques in approaching this unattainable goal, base...

Abstract Variations in seismic velocities are essential in developing a better understanding of continental plate tectonics. Fortunately, the USArray has provided an excellent set of regional phases from the recent M5.6 Oklahoma earthquake (6 November 2011, Table 1) that can be used for such studies. Its strike-slip mechanism produced an extraordinary set of tangential recordings extending to t...
متن کاملAdjoint tomography of the crust and upper mantle structure beneath the Kanto region using broadband seismograms
A three-dimensional seismic wave speed model in the Kanto region of Japan was developed using adjoint tomography for application in the effective reproduction of observed waveforms. Starting with a model based on previous travel time tomographic results, we inverted the waveforms obtained at seismic broadband stations from 140 local earthquakes in the Kanto region to obtain the Pand S-wave spee...
متن کاملStructure of the crust and uppermost mantle beneath the western United States revealed by ambient noise and earthquake tomography
[1] Ambient noise tomography and multiple plane wave earthquake tomography are new methods of surface wave analysis that yield much more highly refined information about the crust and uppermost mantle than traditional surface wave techniques. Applied together to data observed at more than 300 broadband seismic stations from the Transportable Array component of the EarthScope USArray, these meth...
